Description

This light blue test paper changes to dark blue when it comes into contact with hydrocarbons, including substances like gasoline, fuel oil, and lubricating oil. It is ideal for quickly detecting oil contamination in water or soil.

To test for oil in water, dip the paper into the solution and move it back and forth a few times. To check for oil in soil, press the paper firmly against the area of interest and rinse it with clean water. When testing for volatile hydrocarbons, be sure to observe the color change immediately, as it can fade quickly.
