This Chlorine Test Paper provides a simple, reliable, and economical means to measure the concentration of free available chlorine in sanitizing solutions. The Chlorine Test Paper measures total available chlorine from 10-200ppm and gives results in just seconds. Our chlorine test paper is most often used to test the strength of solutions used to sanitize surfaces, for example, in the restaurant industry. In these types of applications, bleach is usually used to generate the available chlorine. With color matches at 10, 25, 50, 100, 200 ppm (parts per million), the test paper measures concentrations between 0 to 200ppm, detecting exhaustion of solutions that should be replaced as well as helping to avoid using excessive amounts of sanitizing agents. Chlorine Test Paper is used to detect the strength of available chlorine in sanitizing solutions. Federal, State and Local health regulations require users of chlorine based sanitizer solutions to have appropriate test kits available to verify the strength of sanitizer solutions. Use of this strip is simple, and has the instructions printed directly on the roll in English and Spanish.

Instructions:

  1. Dip into the solution
  2. Remove immediately

Compare it to the color chart printed on the roll. It really is that simple!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do these strips test total chlorine or free chlorine?

The Chlorine Bleach Test Paper measures total chlorine from 10-200 ppm and gives results in just seconds.

My test strips did not work?

This is generally caused by one of two things: either the solution you are testing is outside of the range or the active ingredient is not chlorine. In solutions below the testing range such as tap water it can be below the limit of detection for this strip. This will result in no reaction when being dipped. If it is dipped in undiluted sanitizer the chlorine will ‘bleach out’ and cover up any reaction of the strip. Usually when this happens you will see a faint purple line at the top of the portion of the strip you dipped. If you test a quaternary ammonia (quat) sanitizer our strip will also not react.

Can I use this to test pool water?

No, this product is not used for testing chlorine in a pool. It is used for testing sanitizing solutions made with bleach or chlorine tablets, and will give a reading from 10-200 ppm. This product is specifically designed for food service and restaurants, coffee shops etc.

Can I use this test for tap water?

No. These test strips are explicitly designed for assessing chlorine levels in the unique context of restaurant sanitation practices. Their formulation is optimized to meet the specific requirements of food service establishments, ensuring precise results in this particular setting. For testing tap water we recommend this test.

Do chlorine test strips expire?

Yes, chlorine test strips expire. We print the expiry date on every roll.
